Effective October 1, 2024, Nick Wilmott will take on a new role for Community Health Systems (CHS) as the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). He will report directly to J. Douglas Warren, President & CEO, and his duties will allow us to use his talents and energies across all of our lines of business, both Not-For-Profit and For-Profit. While Nick will not be operationally attached to any one entity outside of a continued presence in CSL, he will be crossing all lines of business as he searches for new opportunities, new technologies, and better deliveries of our brand, messaging, and culture.

Nick has spent fifteen (15) years as the Vice President of Operations for Community Senior Life and SAGE Management, Inc. In his tenure with those entities, Nick has invested heart and soul into improving care, services, community relations, and employee retention while battling competition, COVID lockdowns, and a general sea-change in the senior care environment. With Brad Oldham helming our corporate financial operations and Nick leading development and strategic growth, we are confident that CHS is well-positioned to provide our entities with enhanced services and support as we seek growth across all sectors.

While Nick will remain as the VP of CSL, he will no longer be heading up day-to-day operations of our facilities. Kim Neal will be promoted to Director of Operations for CSL and will assume those responsibilities. Kim obviously comes from the ranks of our campus Executive Directors and her credibility is unquestioned, as is her love of CSL and her commitment to improvement and growth. Her long tenure with the organization has been marked by successes and increased responsibilities. I am confident she will continue to make her mark.

Undoubtedly, there will be questions about reporting structures and involvements in specific areas/territories as we transition into this change in roles/duties, particularly with Nick’s expanded reach. We are confident that any disruption will be minimal and a certainty that once we fall into a new rhythm, all will fit well, naturally, and with great benefit for CHS and each of us.

Please join us in congratulating these loyal and long-term members of the CHS team on their new roles and giving them all the assistance they need as they begin their new journeys!
